About Adventure Fares

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller That’s pretty much embodies the spirit behind our travel business - Adventure Fares! Adventure Fares was founded as a fun travel project for friends in 2017; just helping share good fares we found with friends and family. It started with a Facebook page for a few friends - and quickly grew to hundreds, and then thousands. We found good fares, posted them, and then celebrated with friends when they had their travel adventures. As time passed, we started getting better and better at finding deals - and learned how to find them more often. Covid hit, a couple of us had to make some career decisions, and Adventure Fares became a business! Here are a few of our key fare finders - we’ll be adding more in the near future. Go Explore the world!

Darrell Potts

C.F.F.   Cheap Flight Finder

“I don’t travel to escape life.  I travel to find it!

I’ve been passionate about travel since a high school choir trip (where I found out I’m a better photographer than singer).  Since then, I’ve saved money whenever and however I can to be able to travel as often as possible.  Since money has often been challenging along the way, I’ve become an expert at finding cheap ways to get where I want to go!

I’ve always been a pretty relentless person - and fairly obsessive.  So if a relentless person, obsessed with travel, is also of fairly modest finances - you get a budget travel expert!   That’s me.

What is excites me the most about this job is being able to help people see something new in the world;  to get outside their comfort zone and explore!  I always think if I can hunt down cheap enough airfares, people can go anywhere.  That’s what keeps me going!

C.O.I.   Chief of Inspiration

“ I have always had a passion for travel and a desire to see more of our world. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about new cultures and countries. Travel, whether in the USA or around the world, has given me a respect and admiration for other places and people. It has also made me appreciate where I live and my community.  It should excite and inspire you, rejuvenate and ground you, educate and challenge you, and most of all, it should humble you.

Travel gives us our greatest stories, our most cherished memories and countless irreplaceable learnings that we can choose to pay forward to others. It teaches us about ourselves and each other, it broadens our horizons and, just like a reset button, it forces us to refocus on what really matters.    I’ve been a travel agent for years - and now am a co-founder of Adventure Fares.

My goal remains the same - to share my love of travel and adventure with others.  I’m glad you’re here.  Lets figure out how to fulfill all those dreams on your travel wishlist!”

Teena Potts

C.D.S.  Chief Destination Scout

“I’m a small town girl - from Arkansas (although I was tempted to say ‘livin’ in a lonely world).  I didn’t travel too much growing up, other than a few family trips to the beach and out west (there were 10 of us in a Suburban for way too many hours)!

My love of international travel started on my honeymoon, during which my husband (Darrell Potts - see above) booked a trip to Austria for us!  I was enchanted with the mountains and the villages in the Alps, was blown away by our brief visit to Venice, and absolutely loved Salzburg!  I was hooked.

Now, after a couple decades of exploring the world as much as budget would allow, I’m so excited to finally get to help others do the same.  I lean towards the “luxury” end of budget travel, so I sort of balance Darrell’s notes with tips on - upgrading hotels, - finding spas, - opting for the better cafes, - and staying away from some of the more annoying tourist traps.   I’m Adventure Fares’ CDS - which means I’m always looking for more destinations to help you fill in your travel wish list!

“I’m the social media manager.  Yes - my last name is also Potts - which means my parents have had me traveling pretty much since birth.  Through the years, I’ve also become passionate about travel and think I know how to do it right.

Don’t give me some detailed itinerary - or some checklist of sites, I just want to grab my pack in the morning and follow the cobblestones wherever they might lead.  I’ll step into a church or museum to escape a rainstorm.  I might grab my camera if the sun hits the tile roofs just right (I love Florence).  I love street food (not fancy restaurants), and love me some gelato!

I prefer to walk downhill, so I might end up at a lake or oceanside before the sun sets.   I’m also somewhat addicted to social media - thus the job here.  Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Youtube so I can keep exploring!”
